    Big A has earned my trust and is the best in town. Their service writers are always friendly and can get me on the schedule quick. They are excellent at communicating through the diagnosis and repair process. They are never pushing extra repairs or services and let me know what can wait or ways to help save me a few dollars. Estimates always seem fair and the repairs are done timely and accurately. An honest mechanic is hard to find these days but the Big A team has earned my trust.

    As usual, the staff did a great job of showing me issues with my jeep! Came in for an oil change and tire rotation. 5$ off if you do both, and i always do. Found both of my plate lights were out, unfortunately they are a dealer item, but they were able to order them for me. Best of the Fest...well deserved!

    BIG A had been fair and straight up... moved here from the east coast 4 years ago... tried several service centers each time having major issues or more issues after the facts...BIG A for the past 3+ years has been great... other than my wife's new vehicle... only for its toe to warranty and such all goes to BIG A...

    I needed a valve stem with sensor replaced and was quoted a very fair reasonable price for that service. When they were finished with the repair I was informed I also had a leak by my rim and a nail in my tire which were also taken care of and I was not charged anymore than the original quoted price! These days, unfortunately it seems hard to find a company that goes above and beyond without a huge fee attached! Very efficient and friendly staff as well! Would definitely recommend this place!

    Went in for oil & filter change and to get tires rotated. No charge for getting the tires rotated due to the fact that I purchased them from Big A!!! Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised when Zach informed me that they applied more than $40 from my Big A loyalty points!!! Another example of great service and customer relations from the Big A team!!!

    Big A performed a brake inspection on our 2016 Toyota Sienna and found several issues on both front and rear brakes. They replaced brake pads all around and front rotors. As always, they provided fast, courteous and professional service at a reasonable price!

    My husband and I are on a 22 hour road trip for a family funeral. Our trucks wheel bearing failed and subsequently killed the break rotor, caliper, and pads. Thankfully they had ALL of that in stock. We thought we’d be stuck for the night and wouldn’t make it to the funeral, but they told us to come in and within only three hours they fixed our vehicle for a more than fair price. On top of that they allowed us to sit in the lobby with our two dogs so we didn’t have to stand in the cold. Staff was incredibly friendly, and they saved our day. Thank you Zach and Jeff.

    I drive my work truck all over Iowa and minnesota, for work purposes, and my alignment has been getting worse and worse. I brought my truck into Big A Auto Sales and Service, for an alignment and oil change. These folks were very communicative with me about what was wrong, and what they would have to do, to break loose the current bolts, in hopes of loosening them, to replace bolts, nuts, spacers, etc, to have the alignment done. Otherwise they would have had to replace the control arms. The mechanic spoke to me and was very honest with what he would have to do. Thankfully, the mechanic was professional and very skilled, being able to break loose the old bolts, without having to replace the control arms. In doing so, these folks saved me about four to five hundred dollars. I was very happily surprised and thankful that I had found an honest company to work with I would recommend Big A Auto Sales and Service to anyone in the area looking for work to be done.

    Had to have my vehicle towed to dealership where I bought it. After 5 days they quoted repairs that almost exceeded vehicle value. I called Mike at Big A and felt good about having it towed to him. Within a couple hours he quoted a significantly less amount. Within 24 hours it was repaired $200 less than he quoted. $7,000 UNDER dealership quote! Big A Repair Shop is awsome.

    If you want friendly service at reasonable prices, I recommend you check this place out. I came in for an oil change today because they are much less expensive than the dealership where I bought my car. They made recommendations about future services my car will need, but did not push me to schedule any of it. I liked that. The month of October they donated money to cancer research, which I TRULY appreciate, because I am a cancer survivor. What a great place! I’ll be back. I signed up for their Rewards Program. They offer a variety of discounts and the program is free to join.

    Best group of guys around! They got me in the same day I brought my vehicle down. They did a comprehensive detailed investigation of the problems with my vehicle.     You can TRUST Big A Auto Sales & Service! I just had a 4 wheel alignment done at Big A! I could not be happier w the exceptional customer service I received. I was there early, they said it would take 45 minutes and it did, they explained what they did and it was a very fair price. Lyle is the manager who is very knowledgeable and helpful. His staff is a delight. They are all very efficient. The inside of the business is very clean, they have coffee, fresh popcorn and comfortable seating to wait. They greet you when you walk in the door which is rare. They actually CARE about their customers. They don’t treat you like you are stupid.     I started my journey with them after my left, ball joint failed and I paid to have my jeep towed there and they gave me a laundry list of all the things my jeep needed done and I approved what was needed , the left ball joint and back brakes. I then scheduled to have done the list of things, that I was advised that I should not leave town without having done. I paid another $1,600 to do the list they advised needed to be done. Today, the right ball joint broke. No one told me that was an issue, nothing was said when I had the my jeep towed to repair the left. I've spent almost $3,000 there for the right ball joint to not have been checked.

    I’ve been bringing my car to you guys for years and yesterday after leaving I really feel that I was over charged. I needed freeon in my vehicle which you charged me 11 dollars for but then charged me around 136 dollars for labor. That just seemed extreme to me especially since you all just did the same thing a month ago. So apparently there’s something more going on. Not happy at all

    This is the worst place in the world to have to your vehicle worked on. Everyone in that place don't know more than a 3rd grader about vehicles and they are a liars. Might as well call them thieves. Took out vehicle in to get a dime alignment. First of all it starts with the usual from that place. They always tell you tap need more done or a new part when ya really don't. So I get the car back after the alignment and just let me let you all know that when I gave it to them it had one dashboard light on which was the toms monitoring for the tires. When u get the car back every light that is in the dashboard that can light up is on. And of course they say they didn't do that it was like that when I briung it in. ABSOLUTELY 100 PERCENT IT WAS NOT. THE. THE LIAR PROCEEDS TO TELL ME WELL ITS FROM THE ABS CENSOR BEING BROKE. OK YOU JUST TOLD ME YOU GUYS DIDNT WORK IN THAT SUDE IF THE CAR WHERE THAT CENSOR IS BROKE BUT YET NOW YOU WANNA SAY ITS BROKE AND YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF IT. MAKES SENSE. AND YOU WOULD THINK UF YOU FOUND SOMETHING LIKE THAT BROKE YOU WOULD IF TOLD US LIKE WHEN TKU COME OUT TO GIVE YOUR LITTLE BULLSHIT SPIEL ON EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED?? YLU NEVER SAID THAT THEN YOU JUST HOPED WE WOULD DRIVE OFF. THEY ARE WORTHLESS LYING PEOPLE DOWN THERE DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE. DONT EVEN TRUST THERE DIAGNOSIS OF WHATS WRING WITH YOUR CAR CAUSE THEY ARE LIARS

    Update: They did somehow destroy my muffler during the repair so that's great and I live 4 hours away so returning for it to be fixed is kind of out of the question Some of the nicest and most accomodating people I have ever done business with. We were in town for a wedding and I broke down on the highway, turns out I needed my radiator replaced. Tony went out of his way to help me get in quickly, and even a technician came in on his day off to work on my vehicle. Thanks to you guys we were able to make it to the wedding in Galena, and be able to return home for work. If I'm ever in the area and need help again, I'll be sure to return. I'd reccomend this shop to anyone

    They are always accommodating, getting my car in within a few days. The team values honesty, never recommending a service I don't need. My family has been going to Big A since I was a kid, and there's never been a question where I take my car when I need something! Even when I was away at college and having car trouble, I called and they were able to help me with what I should ask the local mechanic.

    I sent my first review on an oil change. Having something repaired is another completely different issue. Today, I went back to have a window motor replaced. They didn't have enough rivets to finish the job so they had to order some. After waiting there for four hours, 11.30 to 3.30, with nothing to eat but some popcorn, I paid the bill and me and my headache left. When I got home I looked at the labor I was charged. I called them and asked how much labor I was charged for and was told two hours. I said, it's not my problem you weren't prepared to do the repair. Answer, he probably didn't know until he got into the job he needed rivets. Me, again, that's not my problem. I am sure he would check the rivet inventory before a known repair that might need some is coming in. Answer, I know, that's why we only charged you two hours labor. Me, thinking to myself, so you just split the difference, two hours not four.. Whatever! I should think because of your incompetence not having materials ready to do the job in a timely manner causing me to wait FOUR unnecessary HOURS, a courtesy might be extended. BUT to the contrary, I should be happy that you never charged me for all four of those hours just two. Omg, never ever again will I have anything done there. The second star is for the good popcorn Big A has. The repair business part of Big A got just one.

    Went in for an oil change and for them to fix my power steering. The power steering worked that day, but the following its back to cranking the wheel like a rusty valve. Edit: Took it to them a second time, still the same issue. They also tried to bully me out of the one star view. I WAS gonna get rid of it if it was fixed, but unfortunately for them they didn't care enough to prevent it from happening again. Been coming here for years when my cousin originally told me they were good, but they fell down the same path a lot of other scummy mechanics do is say they fix the problem, and just put some duck tape or clamps and say it's fixed. Along with using their website sending through text a diagnosis and recommending a bunch of imaginary problems to turn your 40$ charge into a 400$ charge. I won't be coming back. 0 star if I could.

    Today I walked in, in hopes they would have availability and they got me in super quick. I got a battery, oil change, and new blades for the price that every other store was quoting me for just a battery alone. Tony talked me through the inspection of things that needed attention so I wasn’t left with any questions or felt like I was being upsold.     I did recommend them very well previously, but after this last service I would not recommend them. I had a light that was hanging out of place and asked if they could correct it. I was then charged with having them replace the light as they claimed it was burnt out. This light was still working and was replaced 3 times in under the same year. I find that a bit odd, especially as the light was working when I brought it in. Just hanging out of the connector loose.

    I have usually always had good experiences with Big A however last week I took my car in for an oil change and a couple days ago my car started doing some weird things and when I looked at the oil there was none in there. After further inspection the O ring of the oil plug was not correctly put back on and so I was leaking oil everywhere. This could have been a much worse situation then it was. And it was 100% Big As fault and they should have double checked that they put the plug back on correctly before giving me my car back.

    Always a great experience there.. They do great work, keep you up to date, and is reasonability priced.. Great bunch of guys!!!! They replaced my rear brake line and also replaced the right front Suspension control arm. They got it done on the day I took it in. Always my first and only choice for auto repair. June 26, 2023 Took my car to Big A cause my Honda Civic was overheating.. Did not have a appointment but they got me in to look at the problem. Turned out to be a coolant line broke. They fixed the problem and I was on my way.. They went above and beyond expectations.. Keep up the good work guys cause it is appreciated 👍 December 6, 2023 My car was running rough and the check engine light was blinking on and off.. My first thought was to get it down to Big A on central. Got it down there and explained the problem. They were able to get me in. They put it on the diagnostic machine and called me with the problem. It was the ignition coil. They fixed that and also changed my oil. I am happy that it's fixed and I didn't have to miss work today. They have always given me good service and I would highly recommend them. They are a great bunch of guys and they treat you like family.. Good work guys and thank you for all you do..

    Big A was excellent, I had 2 separate mechanics try to cheat me out of money while talking to me like an idiot before going to Big A. Then Big A solved my issue for 1/12th of the other 2 mechanics and found another issue I didn’t know I had. They were incredibly kind (especially Lyle) and DIDN’T talk to me like a 4 year old trying to put antifreeze in the gas tank. Could not recommend them more, truly incredible work and great people!

    I do not recommend choosing this shop to work on your vehicle. I had issues with the RPMs sputtering while at stoplights, and the engine completely stalling. After the $135 inspection, they told me what's causing the issue is that my Intake Runner Valve is faulty. The total price for replacing this piece after labor was $627.95, and with the other things done (oil change and the water outlet housing repaired), it came to $1,265.61. Once they finished, I picked up my car, and, no joke, I hadn't even pulled off their lot; my car was sputtering. I took it for a drive, decided to park, and opened the hood with the engine running to look around; then the engine shuts down on me. Not even 20 minutes after leaving. Two days later, I made an appointment once again. After another inspection, they told me that a cylinder is misfiring, and they would change my spark plugs for $600. My obvious question was why this wasn't the diagnosed issue the first time around, and the given response was, 'we didn't have any misfire codes present.' Regardless of whether that was true or not, their test drive/inspection of my car after their fix should have shown that replacing the Intake Runner Valve did not, in fact, fix my original issue. Also, I had a single spark plug replaced sometime in the last year by them, which is beyond me why they wouldn't suggest replacing them all at that time. There was no accountability at all that my issue was not properly diagnosed the first time. Whoever worked on my car put their stamp of approval that my issue was fixed. The fact that I drove off their lot, paid them $1,265.61, ending up with the same exact issue i called in about; that is a sign of lazy work or a lack of competency. Sticking a customer with a $600 fee just to change spark plugs after misdiagnosing the issue is poor customer service.

    Worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic! I took it to another mechanic that I've been a customer for years without issues, and the only thing they found that I needed was brake pads that they estimated they would cost under $200 to fix but they didn't have time to help me out that day. Then I take it here two days later to get it fixed since my normal mechanic was closed, and they couldn't get my car in at that point. Now I have way more issues with my brakes that would cost about $1000 to fix after taking it here. If I could give negative stars I would but I unfortunately can't. Customer beware. Lol Look at big A trying to defend themselves because they are no more than a joke

    I want to give a good review but I can't. Was in Dubuque to see family and decided to get my truck's front end aligned since putting new struts on. They got me right in on Saturday and called me later in the morning to advise of a rusty control arm. Knowing I was from out of town it was suggested that driving would not be safe. I reluctantly gave the ok to fix and received a call a few hours later that the job was done. Drove back to Des Moines and alignment is still out of whack...the opposite side this time, which shows that nobody test drove it. Asked my local shop for a quote to do the exact same job and they were literally 1/2 the price. Both labor and parts were very high and I can only assume it's because they had me over a barrel. Now I still need to get an alignment having paid far too much for the services. Very disappointed!

    I’ve Been going here since I first started driving, and even after we moved to Kansas for a few years, anytime we came back to visit Big A was always our go to.     What a great bunch of guys and girls I got my radiator flushed out there yesterday and they tightened up the petcock too much and then when I woke up it was leaking so I took it back to get it fixed. They couldn’t get the petcock out but they said they give me a new radiator. What a great bunch of guys if they’re wrong, they know it and they will fix the problem. Truly truly a great place to go.

    My car had been giving me some braking issues. Stopped in on Wednesday. They had a same day appt in mid afternoon. I dropped my car at 2 and had the completed work done by about 330. It is now a pleasure to slam on the brakes when the light turns yellow. Staff was courteous and answered my questions. Big A would be my first stop in the future if I have any car issues

    Needed diagnosis. I have used Big A in the past and trust them. Their mechanic took my auto for a test run. Not only did it wobble (my complaint) but the front end failed! They hoisted it up and showed me that it was likely to fail in other places just as it had there, and helped me find options for transportation as well as offering me used cars there.

This time I had committed an error when I mistakenly scheduled our car for oil change. We were just supposed to have our car’s rear wiper changed and check our battery, but Sir Dan, the owner was so considerate and understood the confusion I had. The matter was resolved smoothly. This is one reason, we are confident and secure with its services. Also, Big A has been faithful in supporting our parish.     I had my serpentine belt put back on in addition to brakes and have been with Big A for quite awhile. If you want cheap go look elsewhere. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for. These guys will do things good for your vehicle and you won’t even see it on your bill. They helped my car health in great ways. These guys are straight shooters and will be honest with you. I know enough about mechanics to know that there are some things that I am not a pro at and it is better to pay a pro rather that DIY. I trust them thru and through. Very nice and reputable company. When I’ve explained what is going on they listen and have never tried to talk over me. If you don’t think your backyard mechanic can do the job I promise you that Big A can and will. Don’t take my word for it, go find out their honesty for yourself. Five stars all across the board.Bless.

    We have a great warranty and could take our car to our dealership and have but after today. These guy (Big A) made us feel like a priority today. Sat down with us and explain in detail what they was doing and what they was looking for. You simply can't get that kind of service like that anymore. You have to genuinely care about what you do and the people you service and these guys do. Do not pass them up. Big A Update still a great place to go but I get frustrated when any mechanic tells you to drop the car off but they don't know when they could get to it. I got two cars so it's not a problem but "come on" ya know. Idk that just bugs me.

    Big A Auto is the place to go, people! I’ve been taking my cars there for quite some time. Several months ago I had my brakes replaced there. A couple of months after I started to notice a very mild squeaky noice. I took it back and they checked right away even though I didn’t have an appointment. They did something and told me that if the noise continued, to bring them back because the brakes they installed had a lifetime warranty. I completely forgot about that and I was extremely appreciative of their honesty. I’m not very savvy about car mechanics so I have to trust the mechanic. I’ve never felt I’d been ripped off leaving Big A. With every visit they do a comprehensive inspection and you get pictures with a brief description of something needs to be fixed or replaced. Keep up the good work, Big A Auto team! Thanks for being in the north end!

    Very good customer service and great at keeping communication with you. They were very patient and understanding with me when I went in for a normal brake repair and it ended up being more damage then we thought, They talked with me throughout the whole process, didn’t touch the car or start fixing till I gave the okay and were patient while I tried to figure things out.     Quoted $450 to change 6 sparkplugs -_- Edit: changed them myself paid $55 for the plugs, noticed the 10mm nut for #4 coil they removed was never put back on. $160 for a diagnostic and changing one plug and I now have to go to a hardware store to get a nut

    i spent $600 fixing an exhaust, a coil ignition as well as an oil change and the fees for diagnostic. mind you i paid $115 for a check engine light diagnostics( fixed the problem for that) and still paid$25 for a regular car diagnostic. they never took photos of my car during for the diagnostic i had no reporting of the quality of my vehicle. i was told “you fixed everything that was wrong with the car” just to find out not even a week later theres something wrong with my car. its very unprofessional that there was no documentation to even tell if the problem (a broken front axle) just started or if it was there before. i have no reason why certain lights come on and off on my dash. overall a terrible experience very unprofessional & would not recommend. oh and lets not forget they want me to spend another $700 to fix something that could have been fixed almost 2 WEEKS AGO

    Oil changes are good. But that's about all I would go to them for. Went in with a light issue with my front lights and came out with incredibly dim headlights making night driving highly unsafe. Also didn't look into issues I've alerted them to.

    Fast, friendly, honest, and affordable! A great team of people to work with. They got me right in and made repairs for over a thousand dollars less than a previous estimate I received. The estimate I received from another local business said I needed things repaired and replaced that were not necessary. Big A fixed only what was needed the same day I made the appointment for a fraction of the cost.

    My car was not cooling and I had a bad coolant leak. The team at Big A got me in right away, identified the issue, and fixed it in a timely manner for a great price. Two weeks later my wife’s car had a similar issue. Again, they fixed her car quickly for a great price. By far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic. I will be going back and would recommend to anyone.

    Big A Auto was recommended to me by a friend probably 2 years ago. I have used them for oil changes and other services. Most recently, I had trouble with my battery (which was fairly new), and I stopped in unexpectedly the next morning to see if they could work me in bc I travel for work. Lyle and the guys there are great. Their professional, respectful and have their customers best interest. Within 30-40 minutes, my vehicle had a new battery despite how busy the service men were- they worked me in. I have always trusted the men there to work on my vehicle. I without hesitation, recommend them for their services. Thank you Big A Auto for ur services.

    The guys at Big A Auto are great! They tell you how it is straightforward and don’t try to hide anything about your car. I love that they take pictures for you to reference and look at so you know what the mechanic sees. When I had a question about a fix they made sure I understood what they were doing and why they were doing it. I recommend anyone visit them and consider switching!     I can’t say enough about Big A and the staff. I had my car back and running smoothly within 24 hours of being on the side of the road unsure of where to have it taken. Going into a weekend, I didn’t expect to have it back or let alone know the issue until the following week. They even replaced my long overdue brakes - upon my request! These guys were so kind, genuine and went above and beyond to help me out, making a stressful situation a lot less stressful! I would recommend this place to anyone and plan to have all future work done here :)

    Was my first time going, went in for a routine oil change and they still checked all the bases. And the things that they felt needed down they took photos of. Then came over to me to explain why they recommend it while showing me what they were talking about. Staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Prices beat all other nearby places too. Would highly recommend them to anyone in the area.
